Wig Care Guidance

Here you can find some of our top tips for styling and keeping your wig in great shape

  • Always use a wig stand when storing your wig, as this helps to keep the wig and wig cap in good shape

  • Always use an anti static wig brush - these are designed to be gentle on the wigs and help with fly aways (you can find suitable wig brushes available in our shop section)

  • You can use a tumble dryer sheet and gently rub over your wig to reduce any static

  • Always use a synthetic range of shampoo and conditioner - use lukewarm water, avoid brushing when wet and always leave to air dry on a wig stand over night

  • All wigs are heat resistant up to 130 degrees Celsius unless otherwise stated on the product description

  • Style your wig at a temperature of up to 130 degrees Celsius   (100 degrees Celsius for when styling the fringe due to the rounding of the fringe)

  • If you wish to change the look of the density, always straighten around the crown - this helps to make the wig look more natural

  • Add volume at the roots by using a hot air brush or a hairdryer under the roots to add lift

  • Steam your wigs every couple of weeks to add in moisture and keep your wig looking like new. Steamers are also great for detangling around the nape area where fibres may rub against your clothes

  • Use a velvet wig band to secure your wig

  • If you wish to lighten a root, you can use a root touch up spray - these can easily wash out too

  • Use dry shampoo to add to a natural look. Most of our wigs do not require dry shampoo but there may be a small selection that will benefit from a dry shampoo at the root (Dakota and Carla range)

  • When styling a wavy wig, always scrunch the ends with the palms of your hands to add texture

  • When styling your wig, always use synthetic wig styling products, do not use products designed for human hair as this will ruin the fibres (this includes hair spray, wax etc)

  • When styling a human hair wig, always use products designed for human hair wigs. Do not use every day shampoos and hair products - these are not designed for human hair wigs and may ruin the fibres
